Different religious faiths and spiritual paths have the same universal teachings

Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa

Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa is a famous mystic of 19th-century India, who religious school of thought led to the formation of the Ramakrishna Mission in India. The great master is regarded as the leader of the harmony of all religions teachings as in  “As many faiths, so many paths”. Ramakrishna Mission centers all over the world, started by his famous disciple Swami Vivekananda, are at the forefront of interfaith understanding and cooperation amoung different paths to God. Vedanta centers of the Ramakrishna Mission teach the spiritual unity of humankind and harmony of religions and draw inspiration from the universal truths of all traditions.

Following are a number of the universal teachings of different faiths which reflect broadly the basic ideas of vedanta and the truth about spiritual awakening.

1. See God in all
2. God is within you
3. Persevere in your search for God
4. Trust completely in God
5. Love of God is essential

Conclusion: If one is really awake and aware, to him or her God consciousness is finally all the same, no matter whether it is called Krishna consciousness, Buddhist zen, Christ consciousness, Mohammed’s consciousness or any other higher spiritual consciousness. It is sad and unfortunate that some priests, pastors, monks, mullahs and other religious leaders/teachers interpret the surface of their respective faiths and draw wrongful conclusions as to what the depth of the message of God is. The only hope is this simple truth about the universal wisdom of God will prevail as awareness is attained by more people in this world.
